Karl Fischer titrators and potentiometric titrators are critical instruments in pharmaceutical and chemical laboratories.

Titrators operate on the principle of neutralizing one chemical component using its conjugate system to determine the amount and concentration of the analyte. These systems may be acid–base (pH), redox (monitoring potential changes), or other electrochemical methods.

Karl Fischer titration specifically identifies water content in various substances through a defined chemical reaction between water molecules and iodine molecules, in the presence of SO₂, with a 1:1 stoichiometric ratio.
